Which AI Image Generators Allow NSFW in 2026? The Complete Policy Tracker
Search for AI image generators that allow NSFW and most of what you find is stale: posts from 2024 praising tools that have since banned everything, Reddit threads about toggles that no longer exist, and affiliate lists that never checked a single terms-of-service page. Policies in this space move faster than the models do - Tensor.Art flipped to SFW-only overnight, Grok tightened hard, and getimg.ai quietly dropped whatever flexibility it once had.

Blocked Outright
DALL-E (ChatGPT). The most conservative mainstream option. OpenAI prohibits sexual content and nudity, and the filter overblocks - swimwear and beach scenes regularly get refused. Adobe Firefly. No adult content, ever, by design - "commercially safe" is the entire product pitch, and in practice the filter blocks legitimate swimwear and fashion work too. Details in the Adobe Firefly NSFW policy post.
Google Gemini (Nano Banana). Blocked at every layer: prompt filtering, output classifiers, and account-level terms. The adjustable API safety settings do not override the image-side blocks, and no paid tier changes the policy. Covered in the Nano Banana NSFW policy post.
Craiyon. The free, ad-supported generator that grew out of DALL-E Mini. You can generate without an account, which is rare, but explicit output is filtered and we could not find any published adult tier as of this writing. There is no deep dive for this one because there is not much policy to dive into.

Allowed With Strings Attached
Grok Imagine. The cautionary tale. It launched as the permissive mainstream option, then tightened through 2025 and 2026 under regulatory pressure: image generation sits behind a paid X subscription, the mature mode is age-gated and region-dependent, and moderation scans both prompt and pixels. SeaArt. NSFW works after you flip the mature-content toggle as a confirmed adult, and the free daily stamina makes it one of the cheapest ways in. PixAI. Adult generation is allowed behind an 18+ confirmation, with real community features and daily free credits. But the policy curve bends one direction: realistic-styled sensitive content is banned, AI moderation scans everything you publish, and each update trims a little more. Allowed by Design
NovelAI. The most honest subscription option: NSFW anime is an openly supported use case, not a loophole, and that policy has held for years. The limits are structural - an account, a $10-25/month subscription, and anime-only models. goongen.ai. Our tool, so read this row knowing we are biased. Uncensored by architecture rather than by policy promise: no filter on the model, outputs locked in your browser so that only your password can open them (we could not read your images even if we wanted to, so nobody on our side ever reviews what you make), no email verification, and credits with crypto accepted instead of a subscription.
